Day 7

Here's a moose, up close and personal.

It's a young one. Probably born this past Spring. It was roaming our neighbor with it's mommy, munching on our frozen trees.

Once again this is a zoom lens. One does NOT get this close to a moose...especially baby moose with Mommy around. Seriously last year we had a little boy trampled by a mommy moose for being in between her and baby. No good.

We do not have moose here, but on Christmas day at ILs house there was a group of deer in their yard. The kiddos always get excited to see them.

(ILs live in Maple Valley)

Oh and that is a very good picture. It is cool to see wildlife up close like that.

One time I got about that close to a moose. Accidentally.
I was hiking and just meandering along the trail and I looked up and BOOM-there's a moose! I was scared. I think he (or she?) was surprised. I backed away and off the trail behind the skinniest tree you've ever seen (that would protect me, right?) and the moose went along it's own way.

How cool that you have moose that close! I bet you have a lot of fun wild life up there!

Funny story about Forest! I had several nicknames for my lil sis too. Showboat (she was always showing off for my friends) Chonk-chonk, Boo-boo-skido. Little sisters are fun aren't they!

I am always amazed by wildlife. There isn't much here in the "big" city and I grew up in a bigger city. So I never have seen any up close and personal as you say. Except in pics.
I guess I could start with something simple like a horse.
Jeez, I am such a city girl...

WOW!!! I freaked when I saw a mouse. I would have keeled over with a moose. Plus I KNOW they don't make sticky pads that big.

Awesome photo!
I will have to remember the moose safety tip.
(not that I intend to be near a moose any time soon, but you never know)

I haven't forgotten about your pattern. I just had to find an appropriate sized box. I work tomorrow, so the box probably won't get sent out to you until next week. Hope that's ok.

we have had deer in our yard before. Think it is cool though that you have had a moose drop by.

WAHOO! ANOTHER SHOT! THANKS! Keep 'em coming...BUT DON'T GET TOO CLOSE...I wouldn't want you to risk you life just for a dang picture of a moose! :-)
