General Conference notes

Bee and I watched good portions of General Conference this weekend.

Good portions meaning about 4 hours total.

It's hard trying to pay attention when Bee has to play with every toy that makes sounds or has a button/rattle/etc. But that's okay. I wouldn't change it for the world!!

I recorded it all so this week I will watch more every night AFTER Bee is asleep!

Here are some of my favorite things about this Conference:

Elder Oaks said " Gambling is selfish." I never thought about it like that before. His thoughts were You reap what you sow. If you aren't reaping, you shouldn't be sowing anything either.
I haven't ever been a good gambler. In fact, the first time I ever went into a casino was this past trip to Seattle.

I would like to hear your thoughts on that....

Next,
"It is the most holy of any place of worship on the earth. (Temples) ONLY the home can compare with the temple in sacredness!!!

WOW!!

I always thought of my house being a safe place but close to the TEMPLE!!!! You have to be a part of the club to get in there!! (Hehehe)

He said more things about it being clean and tidy and welcoming that I didn't write down because I was cleaning up a juice mess...I'll have to wait until the Ensign comes out.

But WOW, my home is close to the temple. I'm going to have to do some cleaning!! :)

I just wanted to share how grateful I am for General Conference. To be able to see and hear our modern day Prophets is just awesome. It is humbling to see them every six months. To see how many grey hairs we have put on their heads. Cuz I'm sure in all their praying and hoping for us, they turn grey!!

At least my dad blames Kassy and I for his grey hair!!

So what are you thoughts on these two things??

Go Sisters!

Yesterday our ward Relief Society had a temple day. Lindsay stayed home and watched 13(!!) kids while we went to the temple at 10am. It was amazing! Missy and I had forgot to call ahead to schedule but thought it would be okay because it was 10am on a Thursday. We were shocked when we got there and the parking lot was full! We thought "Well worse comes to worse, we do other things!" SO we went in and were shocked again when we had to sit on the other side! I don't remember the number but all of us sisters filled 8.5 rows with two brothers! Go Sisters!!
It was still a little stressful to go through the second time because I had forgotten half the things we did. But Missy was there to help and it was still wonderful. I'm so glad I went. Hopefully it will be a monthly thing for all of us! Just think of the work we could get done! We had cards yesterday dating back to '00. I hope our turnover rate is quicker than that with all us sisters going on Thursday morning!! Yeah.

This day was so wonderful. I'm so glad the pictures caught some of the feelings that were floating around. There's more pictures to come but these ones are wonderful. Chris and I were just talking about how grateful to have such wonderful friends up here in Anchorage. We get about 5 gorgeous days in Alaska and these people spent one of them with us! We truly do love everyone that was there with us. (There's a couple missing from the pictures but we'll get the later!)
It was really such a blessing to have Chris' parents come up here too. We didn't know if they were going to be able to but we are glad they did. We hope they get to come up in September.
