Meat

This is Chris' elk. We processed it ourselves. Chris spent over 20hours cutting, grinding or packaging his elk. We had Helpers, Jason and George. I helped some but it was hard to do and be 34 weeks along. Chris did it Wednesday and Thursday before I got med-a-vac'd to ABQ. This could be the reason my cervix shrank so much!! Oh well! We now have a freezer FULL of deer and elk meat. Chris is guessing over 300lbs of steak, hamburger and stew meat. Way to go, Honey!!

We are HOME!!!!

We are home! We got home Saturday evening. We surprised the boys. I've never been so grateful for my bed, my laundry room, food in the fridge and to be together with ALL my boys. We are taking it easy for a few. The doctors suggest we don't take Dragonfly out until his due date...Halloween. So it will be a few for church and anything else. Marie, my mother in law is here too, helping out with everything, I'm nervous about life after she leaves! I'll post more pictures in a few! What are you up to?

Detail of quilt

*
Sorry the pics are upsidedown. I don't know how to change it.
1. The back of the little bird on one of the charm squares.
2. The front
3. The log I made for the bird next to my name
4. The whole bird

Chris brought this quilt for me to the hospital and I'm soooo grateful!! It was really nice to have the quilt I made especially for this time. I put it on my hospital bed every day we stayed there before I had Dragonfly and the 2 days after I had him. Chris slept on the bed, under the windows, which were really drafty so I would put the brown side out and put it over him. He didn't want the 'girly' quilt on his bed! LOL
The nurses would come in to check on me and would ask about the quilt. It was a good conversation starter. I was/am really proud of it. It will get even better when I can wash it more. It's still a little too firm for my liking.

Soccer

*
This is Bee and his soccer uniform. The first picture is him counting how many times he kicked the ball. The second is him showing me his shoes. Third is him in the goalie. He got fired from being goalie shortly after this picture because he shared the ball....with the other team too. You can't get mad at him for sharing!! So he got to run around with the other kids instead of 'blocking' the goal.
I'm a proud mommy to know that, at least sometimes, Bee can share!

Bee got the bum deal out of me having Dragonfly. He isn't playing soccer anymore. His season ends October 15th. I'm hoping and praying that we are home for his last game. It's so sad when we pass a soccer field with kids and he asks to play. It breaks my heart. Hopefully we can sign him up for basketball or something in the winter season.

Brothers

*
It's so hard having a my newborn in the hospital but it's moments like these two that shine light on a dark situation. Glo bug stayed and watched Chris feed Dragonfly for like 3 minutes (Which is a LONG time for Glo bug). And Bee watched Dragonfly just like that for quite awhile too. He had bar marks on his face.
It's so sweet to see these boys interested in their brother. It makes a mommy's heart beat with joy.

PS I had a huge long post about Dragonfly's story getting here and Blogger decided to eat it. I'm hoping that it will magically appear tomorrow. If not, it will be a few more days to hear the story.

Baby Edmond's baby quilt

*
I tried a new pattern for my Bliss jelly roll before I had Mr. Dragonfly.
I brought it with to finish it.
It's a pattern on the Sweetwater blog. I can't find the link right now. I thought it was going to be ALOT bigger. But it's the perfect baby size quilt. Aimee is having a girl so I thought this would be perfect. It's a quilt as you go. I used alot of my fancy stitches on my machine. It was pretty fun to do!
If I was to do it again, I would double the length of each strip. So I would need 2 jelly rolls for an adult size quilt.
Anyway Aimee isn't due until the end of January so I have time to mail it but I better do it quick before the boys use it!!! :)

Chocolate Molten cake

I got out of the hospital Sunday morning. This has been the fastest and easiest recovery with all 3 boys. I was up and moving the morning after I had Dragonfly. Everything is healing nicely. (I'll have a girly post in a few, with details)
Christi and George Baker came up to see Dragonfly. They came Saturday. We made plans to go to Red Robin on Sunday for lunch! We don't have Red Robin anywhere near Alamogordo. This one up here is the closest. So it's a big deal to go when we go. Well the Baker's decided to go home early so we went to Chili's. (We have a Chili's in Alamo but it's not good....at all!)
So Chris and I have a tradition....we order our cake first! Our theory is we can take our entrees home and heat them up later but you can't take ice cream home and the chocolate doesn't heat up the same at home. So in celebration of having Dragonfly, getting out of the hospital and our probable last date night for quite a few, we got our cake!! Oh it was sooo delicious!

The pilgrims

We have this guys with us again! Chris' dad, Don, came down to watch the boys while we were up here having a baby. Before that, Courtney, Amy and Susie watched them for 5 days! I soooooooo owe them!!
Anyway, Don drove up Tuesday and brought the boys. I missed them soo much. I knew I was going to miss them but not to the actual hurt-in-my-heart miss them.
It's not fun having them in a hotel but at least they are here. I just can't wait until we are ALL home. Sleeping in our own beds, doing our regular stuff, eating our regular food.
Glo bug has hurt his leg also. That has been fun too. He is doing better but for a few days he could barely walk. It doesn't seem to hurt in one spot, just his whole right leg. I'm thinking the boys were wrestling and it got twisted or something. If it's still drama on Monday, we will call Tricare. Having a whiny boy on top of this stress leaves me crying most every afternoon...then it's naptime and things seem a little better after a nap.
Dragonfly is doing great. He's eating well. Taking a bottle on half his feeds. He's gaining weight. Now we just have to wait until he eats all his food by bottle. We have no idea when that will be. It's up to the little guy.
