Day 6

This is my sister, Kassy. I call her Forest.

Isn't she beautiful? I think she is.

I call her Forest because it is a great nickname for a little sister. We used to be on a swim team together for years, growing up. The movie Forest Gump came out around the beginning of our swimming careers. (We weren't old enough to watch it. But I knew that Forest was a little 'slow.') This is great ammo, knowing I couldn't call her stupid or dumb without Mom yelling at me. She knew what it meant and that's all that mattered. So to continue with the cover of just calling her Forest, without the hidden meaning, I would say, "Swim, Forest, Swim." (Run, Forest, Run..but Kritta-ified)
This went on for sometime before Kassy got upset about me calling her stupid. She finally told Mom...loser. I got in trouble when I called her Forest from then on.
Well I kept on calling her Forest, even though I'm sure my whole sixth grade year was spent in my room.
Now how could I let a great name like that get lost because of some room time. It's the price some have to pay!
Anyway after a long awhile my parents just gave up and stopping me. Even they started calling her Forest. How great is that?!
It's now turned into an endearment name but I'll never forget the original meaning! :)

That's a great story and YES! She is a beauty! I never had any sisters - just 4 brothers so while I may have been the one getting picked on relentlessly, I made sure to scream or cry at just the moment I knew mom would be entering the room. Oh they learned fairly quickly they were either with me or against me. I made a lot of money of them boys (heh).

I totally remember that name. I even called her Forest. But by that time, it was more of the endearment name.

Your sister is quite the beauty.

I was the younger sister, picked on and ignored. I feel your sister's pain.
Although now, we are great buds.

Hey, I was on a swim team for years and was living the whole military wife life for a while (although not really the wife part).
And nowhere near Alaska. BRRRRR!!!!

I'm totally stealing that nickname with the intention of using it on many people. My old colleague at work, my one stepson, my sister-in-law and god knows who else!!! Thanks for the laugh today! And yes, your sister is beautiful!
