Long post

Hi guys! Soo many things have happened the past couple days and I need to write them all down!!

First Bee is WALKING!!! I don't have any pictures loaded yet but I have them. He walked between the couch and the chair to Chris last night without any help. We knew he could do it. He just needed some more time! Way to go Bee!(Here's our little vampire. AKA Edward! Isn't he handsome!!?)

We carved pumpkins last night with Brittany. She left before I could get her picture with the pumpkin. (We'll getcha later!) Interesting fact about pumpkins.....they are like candy to moose. On base you can't put your pumpkins out until the night of Halloween otherwise the moose will come eat them. On base, if some MP see your pumpkin out, they can give you a big ticket. (cuz you are baiting the moose!!) Bet you didn't know that?!(Here's our neighborhood moose. Usually he runs away but I got a good picture of him this time. It wasn't until I resized the picture that I know why. He is going tinkle!! Sorry Mr. Moose. Continue on.)

I got Nicci's quilt sewn together. Now I just have to do the backing and actual quilting! Yeah!! Maybe I'll have it done before she leave for the academy. (Hopefully!)

I won this cool stuff over at CJ blog! Go check her out cuz she's cool!

I got my camera loaded on this computer so now you will all have to deal with my awesome pictures!!

K so it didn't load pumpkin or quilt pictures cuz they are on my phone. I'll have to download them later and post them. Have a great day!

PS My friend is having an awesome giveaway! If you don't want it, you can win it and give it to me!! Go check it out!!

2nd post today....read both!

Hello again!

I was going through my blogroll and of course stopped on my blog friend at Ponytail Challenge. Now if you haven't been there, go now.

Don't argue. Hey, hey I'm the mom....do what I say!! (Oh you guys know you use that phase!)

Anyway she is having a great challenge this week. Pay it Forward. I love it!!

I want to do this and forget. But it's just for a week. We can remember that long right?!

Well just try!

We remember this??

Oprah's Big Give. I LOVED this show! I seriously want to win the lotto (I don't play) so I can do this! I'm so glad to see that Oprah is giving away part of her wealth. She is so great.

Anyway so are you going to try with me?

It doesn't have to be money or food, just kindness! I'll check in later this week to see how I'm doing!

Linky Love

I don't know if you guys knew this, but you are on camera!! Yup..I can see you!!

Just kidding. But I can tell where you came from and where you went after looking at my site!

Is that kinda creepy?

Well it's Halloween soon, so get over it!! :)

Anyway I added this counter thing to my site awhile ago. I forgot about it. I was cleaning/weeding out my email tonight and came across it.

Do you know what my biggest day was this past week??

Thursday...I'll save you found scrolling down....it's the one of my mug shot. The fifth folder of your pictures one. Yeah that one.

Now you can believe my shock. I know I'm decent but not over a 100 views hot! I mean really!!

Then I remembered that Binks 'borrowed' the idea and linked to me. And then Jill had a link to her...one big happy blogger family!

So all my other days were normal and it shot up on Thursday. I LOVE linky love!

So come on by, all you new-bees!! (Bzz) I love comments so just write a little hi!

Does anyone else live for comments?

Dear Wal-Mart buyer

Dear Wal-mart buyer person,

While I was buying Halloween candy yesterday, (that is a week away) I saw a very disturbing site. Your co-worker were taking down Halloween costumes. Boxing up the candy, putting away masks, stacking the make-up, a whole flock of them.

I asked one of your drone bees why they were packing the future holiday selections. We said " We have to put out the Christmas stuff tonight."

WHAT??!!! Are you freaking kidding me?? For reals?? I mean really??

I said "It's a little early, don't you think?"

Bees said " Yes, that's what I thought. But it's what our boss said to do."

Yeah I guess I cant freak out on the drone bees. So I'm freaking out on you, Wal-Mart buyer/supplier!

Can you please just wait until October 31?

I mean I understand that Christmas is a big holiday. I know that you must make a zillion dollars from this blown out of wack holiday.

But really?? The second to last week in October!!

There are still people buying candy for next week. There are people still needing last minute costumes. There are still people that are waiting for the decorations to go on sale!!!!!!!!

So can you please keep your money grabbing, holiday gift card seeking hands off the Halloween stuff until next week??? PLEASE!!!

K thanks for reading!

One pretty upset costumer!

5th picture in the 5th folder

Deb had this brilliant idea to play Picture Roulette and wanted us to join in. Her instructions were to pick the fifth picture in your 5th folder. And Jill wanted me to play so here it is!
I was scared the it was going to be a picture that my brother in laws took at the reunion and I wouldn't know who they were! :)

But no, it's just little ol' me!! With my, when, new haircut. I took the picture to show my mom.

(Don't mind the cardboard in the background..it's for our fireplace. And the door behind me, yeah that's our glass door to the backyard. Can you imagine my floors!??! OKAY don't, cuz it will make you gag!) Or the goofy face...I took three pictures and this was the fifth one.

Come play with us! It's kinda exciting!!

Don't you Hate It When...part 3

Alright I debated all week about writing this on this blog. But I'm going to do it because I really want that Shuffle over at Shelle's (who's in charge of this whole Don't you Hate It When...Go check it out!) and I'm going to have to explain it to my kids one day anyway. It's a family story that comes up whenever two words get smashed together...read on!

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Kristal (he he). She was a 11th grade in a Chemistry class. Now this is a BIG thing because it's suppose to be a senior only class but she had the smarts to get in!!
So it just so happened that the most gorgeous guy in the WHOLE entire WORLD, was in this class. Did I mention that he was tall, dark and handsome? That he was Mormon..a plus for me! And had already saved up money for his mission. Oh yes! What more could a 11th grader ask for?!!? Oh maybe that he would talk to her!! Oh yeah..it sooooo happened..like twice!! :) (We'll call him AC)
Well anyway Mr. R was a great Chem teacher and believed in hands-on experiences/labs. One day he set the fire alarm off because of said experiences. As we were leaving the classroom, Kristal and AC just HAPPENED to be walking next to each other. He held the door open for her. And they started chatting about whatever.
The conversation turned to cars. Kristal asked AC "What kind of car would you like to drive after your mission?"
"A Geo metro cuz I could put big wheels on it and still get good gas mileage!" said AC (Actual quote BTW) "What about you?"
"Well I wanna F**K. (Turning bright red, and stammering..) I mean,... I want a Ford Truck, Ford Truck!!!!!!!!!" said Kristal
Kristal then turned and walked away calmly to her friend in the class. Told the story and got laughed at, to the point that her friend had to use the 'forbidden' port-a-potty cuz she had to pee. Said friend, told everyone and their cousin. It got back to her mother. Who then put it, in stitches on her Graduation quilt...Ford Truck.

Don't you hate it when that happens....yeah me too!

Now if you laughed, giggled, grinned, or even just a smirk....go vote for me at Shelle...please!!!

(For those of you who know the people in this story, don't use names. It's embarrassing for all parties! *sigh*)

Phriday's Photo

This is a DOVE ad. I seriously LOVE it!!

I love that Dove is using REAL beautiful women! Not a one of those girls is a size 0.

That's great because I still think they are gorgeous! I'm not a size 0 but I think I'm cute. Definately not beautiful like these chicks but still there!

I think we all are.

So this is my Photo for Carrie's Px4! Go play!!

Awards!

I have won a couple awards the past couple days. So here I am passing them on!

First, let's start with the fun one!
Alright my fellow bloggers, (drumroll please)...

1. Rebecca at Rebecca's blog cuz she isn't afraid to speak her mind. I love that she pulls it all out there!!
2. Rachael at The Chronicles of Abigail cuz she is real too! I love that she shares her ups and downs with us! (And that Abigail is wearing the apron I made...Love it!!) And cuz she's a great mom and I wanna be like her!
3.Sue at Navel gazing at its finest cuz how can you not love a blog with that name. It only gets better from there!
4. Chellkay at Two for the Road cuz she has twins and reminds me everyday that I can make it. And she was in the military, how cool is that!?
5. Tiffany at Magic Moments cuz she's so stinkin cute!
6. Abbilyeverafter because you all need to go over there and see how cute her blog is.
7. Brandy and Mandee over at Some of This and SOme of That cuz they are always looking for new people to play with them. (PS they are doing a Christmas swap too! Go play!)

I do not speak Portuguese so I here's the translation of the award and the meaning behind it:
“This blog invests and believes, in ‘proximity’ [meaning, that blogging makes us 'close' - being close through proxy] How awesome is that?

"They are all charming blogs, and the majority of them aim to show the marvels of friendship; there are persons who are not interested when we give them a prize, and then they help to cut these bows; do we want that they are cut, or that they propagate?

"Then let’s try to give more attention to them! So with this prize we must deliver it to eight bloggers that in turn must make the same thing and put this text.”

So Eight chicas for this special award!!

1. Mal- cuz she always enters my contests (and so far is 2-0)

2. Becky here and here- cuz she redid my blog and it looks AWESOME!!

3. Shelle- cuz we ARE sisters

4. Camille at Ponytail Challenge- cuz she makes me get my bum in gear! I love that!!

5. Jill cuz she is just so dang funny!

6. Kate cuz she needs something to blog about and she is a rockstar!

7. Laura cuz she invited me to play on her recipe blog!! (How cool am I?!)

8. Laurie at Tip Junkie- cuz what is more helpful than that?? Like nothing!!

Don't you Hate It When....

Don't you Hate it When...

(This is a repost but it was soo funny and really a Don't you hate it moment!)

So Chris and I were watching TV and we noticed this smell.
1.Me thinking it was my husband, stuck my tongue out at him and wrinkled my nose.
2.Chris thinking it was the dog(s), covered his nose with his shirt and went about playing his computer.
3. Hooch and Jack (the dogs) thinking it was Chris, got up and moved away.

So after about 5 minutes, the normal amount of time for any kind of fart to move away, it's still there!! So I go on a search to find the stink. I didn't have to go far...it was Bee!! My sweet little baby smelt like my old husband!! After I put my gag reflex back where it belongs, I went to change the diaper.
It was too messy so I cleaned him up the best I could with wipes on the bathroom floor and dunked his little bum in the bath. We were playing and splashing, having a great time. It was time to end the bath and I turn to get a towel off the counter. My foot lands smack dab in the middle of the grossest diaper I've EVER had to change!!
So I say "Are you serious?!" And just burst out laughing! What else could I do? It was totally my fault for not putting it in the garbage. It was stinking up the whole bathroom, I knew it was there!! So what do I do? (The kid's in the tub with clean water, I can't do the splits to wash it off in the sink so...) Yup you guessed it, my foot goes in the toilet (which I just cleaned yesterday and NO one uses that bathroom except Bee for his bath so it's not that bad). And a couple flushes later, I'm able to hop into the bedroom and grab some wipes. Wipe it down good, no more like great! And squirt out about a pound of antibacterial stuff on my foot, and call it good to go.
I can still feel the yuckiness on my foot so I have washed it about 10 times since then. (I'm sure I'll have no skin left by tomorrow morning!) It's long gone, I'm sure. But I can just feel it, ya know?! (Okay maybe you don't, but still.....)

Don't you hate it when that happens...yeah me too!

Go play at Shelle here! (vote for me!!)

Sunday, October 12, 2008

I'm really slacking over here. I'm on here all the time...just ask my hubby!! But I don't always post something! I need to change that habit!!

What are you plans for Sunday?

I plan on going to church. Eating lunch and watching movies with my family. I burrowed some good ones from the library this past week. Including "The Importance of Being Ernest" which I read for my book club. I think my hubby will enjoy it.

I went to Target again today. (I know what you are thinking,"Why doesn't she just shoot herself in the foot?") It was WORSE than opening day but I guess I should have expected that. It is Saturday and just about everyone in Anchorage knows it's open so yeah. I shouldn't have gone. I didn't buy anything. I just went to go. (Hey, don't judge me! You live without your favorite store for 3 years and come back to report!!)

I entered in three swaps today. Two Christmas present swaps and an ornament one. I'm too lazy right now to find the links. Comment and I'll send them your way, if you are interested.

I finished my apron but I hate it and will not be wearing it. I might un-sew it and use it for something else. I'm going to buy one of my friend's aprons, Mychel. She makes hers out of old BDU's (military uniforms).

Bee is now crawling like a "normal" kid. He can also stand up by himself. He can walk too but doesn't have the confidence yet. Any advice on getting him to walk on his own? We hold his hand, barely, but as soon as we let go, he drops to his bum. I'm hoping he gets over this fear in the next couple weeks so he can walk at Halloween!

Chris is getting over a cold. I hate it when he has a cold. He doesn't wanna do anything but yet he has all these plans to do things! Arggh! Go away, Mr. Flu bug!

We had a HUGE wind storm two nights ago. It was so bad that three of our neighbors' fences blew down. Ours broke, right where the latch is. So Bee, Ethan, Nova and I all woke up at 3 am to the slamming of the gate. I tried to fix it but it couldn't be fixed. I had to wait for Chris to get home from work. (He was on mid-shift.) And then today I was looking at our roof, and the top row of shingles is ALL GONE!!! That's gotta get fixed before the snow comes!! Like tomorrow! Yikes.

Well that's about all that's going on here at the W World.

Anyone come up with more ideas for our name??

(I heart swimmer's ear but not for our whole family name. If I start my own blog, I will name it swimmer's ear after JJBB!!)

Thursday, October 9, 2008

I'm making myself..

I'm making myself an apron tonight!!

I ruined another one of my shirts. A new one too!

You would think with all my apron making, I would have one. Oh no!!

You would think with my friend making aprons for her business, I would have one. Oh no!!

So I'm making one tonight. Nothing special. Just something to keep the splash off my clothes!!

Just thought I'd update you!!

Just wondering...

I was thinking I wanted to read the whole Book of Mormon before Christmas. Anyone else wanna play?

We have 79 days left. That would mean about 10 pages a day. It's not that tough. You just have to do it.

Who wants to play?

If anyone does, then I'll send you a schedule. Or maybe put it on here.

Let me know by Wednesday so we can start!!

Don't you Hate It When...

Don't you just hate it when your pacifier gets stuck in the high chair??!!

I mean, you really need it. You can't pull it out cuz Mom caught the string in the tray by accident.

You try and try to put it in your mouth and sit down. It doesn't come with.

Your mom is laughing at you and taking pictures.

Don't you just hate that??!!

(DOn't look at how dirty the chair is. It's what happens when you have a malamute and snow!)Go Check other Don't you hate it when... at Shelle.

Then vote for me!! Cuz I really want the SHUFFLE!!!

72 hour kit

In the spirit of Conference weekend, I'm going to put this link up. It's to Costco for pretty much a 72 hour kit.

I have always wanted to sit down and make one of these for everyone in my family but haven't yet. This would be a great start. It's a little expensive but I would think worth it.

What have you done in this area??

Our Halloween

Our Halloween is going to be different than most. This is why!

See that white stuff?? Yeah it's on the ground and in the sky. TODAY!!

It's October 3,2008. OCTOBER, people!!

I just want to curl up in a ball and cry.

We had NO summer. Like 5 days of warm stuff.

Now we had 5.25 (and that''s exact) days of snow free. Remember this post...one of my firsts.

That was April 25. Let's count together... May, June, July, August, September, and now October, barely!!!

I'm going to list the good things now so I can look back at it every couple minutes.

1. My carpet will FINALLY be clean. (We have mud around our house and the snow with cover that up nicely and freeze it.)

2. Bee can play in the snow.

3. Anchorage will look pretty again.

4. It means it's getting closer to when I get to leave here.

5. It's closer to Christmas, Thanksgiving and our birthday.

6. ...That's all I got....help a sister out. I'm about ready to just live next to my computer, read blogs and hope I was somewhere else through others blogs.

Drool

Dear Bee,

You are going to hate this when you are 12 and reading this. I will probably tell this story or one like it on your prom night, and wedding day.

I went upstairs a few minutes ago to see why you were crying. You didn't have a nap today so I know you were tired.

I check it out and you were laying on your side, whimpering. I roll you over and find that your pacifier wasn't in your mouth. I go to put it in your mouth and realize the WHOLE side of your face is covered in DROOL!!

I love it!

You were so tired that you didn't even wake up when I rolled you over. You just wanted your pacifier. I wore you out today!

It makes me smile that you drool. Just like me. I'm a drooler, but only when I'm really, really tired or sick.

Note: Don't go on a band trip when you are really, really tired and fall asleep on someone's lap. You WILL get made fun of.

In these past couple weeks, we have really seen you come out of your shell. We are starting to get to know Bee. It is really fun and sometimes shocking!!

Your dad taught you how to scream like a little girl. (Always fun in the middle of Wal-Mart.)
And he taught you how to growl like a tiger. And high-five, and pound-it and noggin. All in one week!

You are like a little sponge and say "Uut ohh" when you throw things.

You still like being wrapped in a 'burrito' to go to sleep. You sign 'more', 'food' (which is for food and drink). You sign 'all done' and you made up a sign...beating your head for when you want something. This cracks us up when you want a toy or food, you will keep hitting your head on the right side until you get what you want. It has to hurt. You don't do it lightly!!

Gosh I love you, my little Turkey! Thanks for coming to play with us!!

I heart you always,
your mom
